Loughton Baptist Church is blessed with large numbers of children and young people who are a very important part of our church. Currently there are around 23 adults involved as teachers and assistants in 6 different groups. There are over one hundred children on our register, of which approximately 65 attend on an average Sunday.

On most Sundays the children join with their parents and wider church congregation for the initial part of the service (usually 20 minutes) before going to their "Light Groups".
In these groups the children and young people are involved in a range of age-appropriate activities to develop their knowledge and understanding of the Bible. On a typical Sunday morning in Light Groups, you might find the Sparklers and Spotlight Groups listening to stories, singing and praying together. The older children's Fireworks and Laser Squad read the Bible together, learn memory verses and have discussions. The teenager's group, 'Ignite!' debate issues affecting their everyday lives as well as reading the Bible and playing games. All the children are offered refreshments and have the opportunity to make friendships with other children.
If you are looking for a church we hope that LBC can offer you the spiritual support that children, young people and families need today.
The Crèche is available for the 0-2 year olds every Sunday, when the older children go out to their groups. If however you would like to use the crèche before all children go to their groups, then the helpers will be available for you to look after your little one. More information is available here.
