Choir

The congregation at Loughton Baptist Church is a singing congregation but there is a small group of members who made the commitment to sing regularly as we feel that the ministry of music is an essential part in the worship and adoration of God. Starting with a small number of 12 voices, our goal is to make a joyful noise unto the Lord.

We meet every Monday to rehearse from 8.00pm to 9.30pm. The choir presents an anthem once every month and on special events in the church calendar. Our programme is varied and the choice of music ranges from good old fashioned hymn classics to contemporary rhythmic, but equally uplifting, praises to God. We sometimes team up with the Children’s choir to present a combined music offering with congregational participation in the singing. Currently the choir comprises women voices . The deep resonance of men’s voices would complement the choir greatly. Any person with the commitment to serve the Lord in this area of ministry is welcome to join. The ability to read music notes is not a prerequisite but to be able to sing in tune would be a tremendous advantage.
