Worship

At Cavendish House

Sunday Morning at 9.30am

A traditional service lasting 45 minutes, held at sheltered housing complex in Loughton.  Members and friends of the church attend, together with a number of people who live in the complex.  Traditional hymns are used, together with prayers, Bible readings and a short Bible-based talk.  If you wish to attend this service please contact the minister, Dave Gregory.

At Loughton Baptist Church

Sunday Morning at 10.30am

220-240 adults and children gather from all over Milton Keynes to worship God, encourage each other and learn more of what the Bible says about God's way for life.  Most weeks, the whole church meets together for worship for 30 minutes, after which children and young people go off to their own children's and youth groups.  There are songs, prayers, news of church life, readings from the Bible together with a sermon and at times images for reflection and meditation and video clips.  Occasionally a drama group also contributes.  The service ends at around 11.45am and is normally followed by refreshments.  The last Sunday of the month is usually a shorter Family service, ending at 11.30am, with children under the age of 7 going off to their groups after 20 minutes.

Sunday Evenings at 6pm

Perhaps slighly more traditional than the morning service, although a variety of musical styles are included. 50-60 people of various ages attend.  A typical service may include people sharing stories of life and faith, various types of prayer, Bible readings and a sermon.  No offering is taken and the service usually ends by 7.15pm at the latest.

Communion

Celebrated on the first Sunday service of the month in the morning, and the third Sunday in the evening.  All who are following Jesus and want to know more of God's life in their own are welcome to share in the meal.

Music

A blend of traditional and contemporary songs, mainly drawn from Songs of Fellowship, is used in worship.  A video projector provides song lyrics to the congregation.  There are a large number of people with musical gifts and each week a diverse group of musicians help lead worship with a variety of instruments, from electric organ to guitars and drums.  Children accompany some songs with percussion instruments.  A small choir contributes monthly and a children's choir occasionally.
