NEW TO LBC?

HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT ON A SUNDAY

No, the church is for everyone! Regardless of your background, culture, age and history, you are welcomed and accepted here.

Dress in whatever makes you feel comfortable! Some of us dress casually, and others prefer to wear their “Sunday best.”

During the service, someone does give a talk at the front and it is a sharing of how God was, is and continues to be relevant in today’s world.

The talk includes stories, pictures, testimonies and even jokes! And none of it is meant to intimidate or condemn anyone into believing anything.

The message of Jesus is not an order or command of fear; it is instead a gentle invitation to love and hope.

Cool

You will be welcomed at the door by one of our ushers.

Sit anywhere you like in the main hall. There will be singing, prayers, and a talk by a pastor sharing about how the Bible can bring hope and change in our daily lives.

Children and youth go to their own groups in the middle of the morning services. Morning services usually last an hour and a half. The more traditional evening service lasts about an hour.

Free coffee and tea are available in between the morning services in the foyer area.

Not at all!

The services, children and youth programmes and refreshments are free. Our church building, staff and community work are funded by contributions, so we have a collection at every service.

Feel free to let the bag pass by without putting anything inside. There is no expectation to give a contribution.

Feel free to speak to one of our pastors or ministry staff after the service and they will be happy to talk with you.

In our morning services there are facilities for children and young people.

There is a creche available throughout the service in to which everything is relayed.

We encourage children to remain with their families at the start of the service following which the service pastor will invite the children to go to their groups.

There are kids groups available from age 4 to 18 but the 15-18 year old group takes place in the second service only.

Feel free to join in the singing of the songs (words are projected on the screen) but you can just enjoy listening to the songs.

We also stand during this time, though you may sit if that is more comfortable for you.

You do not have to bring a Bible as the passages will be shown on the screen. There are also Bibles available for your use, if you would like to use one.

After the service, there are prayer opportunities if you would like to be prayed for.

Church life is a wonderful mix of both!

We are serious about Jesus and how we live out His teachings in our lives.

At the same time, we also enjoy fun, social activities together and have many events planned in our church calendar.

The WNS is a charity in Milton Keynes that shelters the homeless during the winter and supports them to rebuild their lives throughout the year.

LBC is one of the 14 churches who offers their building as accommodation once a week, providing food, warmth and hospitality.

These are six week sessions that run three times a year. They provide an opportunity for more in depth teaching so that we may all grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Topics vary each season and cover courses like The Prayer Course, Life on the Frontline, and Buidling a Discipling Culture.

A kids club runs at the same time and refreshments are provided at the end of each hour.

Usually, these are hour long sessions beginning at 5pm on a Sunday. We also begin and end the block of teaching with a Prayer and Praise event.

More information will be given in the Upcoming Events section of the website as and when needed.
