Connecting with young people across MK
Working in partnership with ROC, Safer MK and Loughton Baptist Church
Who are we?
We're a detached youth work project in MK aiming to connect with young people across the city.
What do we do?
We have a team of volunteers who drive to various places across MK and engage with young people where they hang out. Most of the team have experience working with young people and offer their time voluntarily. All are given on-the-job training.
How do we engage the young people?
Our van is equipped with numerous activities to help us achieve our aims. We hope that over the long term we can build strong relationships with the young people we meet and be positive role models in their lives.
What outcomes for the community can we expect?
The areas across our city that we choose to drive to are largely decided from intelligence from our partners, most notably from MKCC and TVP local neighbourhood policing teams.
What about safeguarding?
Everyone involved has undergone Safeguarding Training including an enhanced DBS check. We also encourage Trauma Informed Practice training too.
